Serbia can offer more than 1000 warm and cold mineral water springs, natural mineral gases and medicinal mud. Spas were popular from ancient Roman times on this area. Nowadays, more than 50 thermal resorts wait for guests. Health resorts are mainly located in peaceful and green areas of valleys or slopes of hillsides. Spas are equipped in good facilities and amenities. The spa resorts offer perfect places for relaxation and recreation and broad range of health and body treatment. Most of spa resorts provide good conditions for organizing congresses, seminars, workshops. Moreover, the areas of spas often feature worth-seeing cultural and historical sites.
The largest and the most popular spa in Serbia is Vrnjačka Banja. It has been located within the boundaries of a big park near Kraljevo, since 1968. Many thermal springs in Vrnjacka Banja date back to the ancient times. There are 5 sources of hot water. Summer is a ideal time to take part in many interesting cultural events and even a great carnival. Varied landscape gives a possibility for enjoying various activities such as hiking, skiing, rafting.
Soko Banja is an another famous spa and tourist place in Serbia. It is located in a valley between mountains Ozren and Rtanj in south-eastern Serbia. The natural springs were known in Roman times. Nowadays, spa is famous for its moderate continental climate and green surroundings, fresh air and a lot of thermo-mineral sources.
Prolom Banja is located 300 km south of Belgrade. Spa resort offers couple of sources of mineral water which temperature oscillates between 26 and 31,5 C. Prolom water is popular among healthy people due to its taste and lack of smell. Additionally, this region is dotted with many monasteries and churches as well as Prolom Banja is in close vicinity of unique natural wonder of Serbia - 'Djavolja Varoš'.
Banja Koviljača is known as 'Beauty of Podrinje' and it is located in one of the most beautiful Serbia's park, at the foot of the Gučevo mountain. The spa offers several water springs, medicinal mud (peloide), and a beautiful natural surroundings. It is also famous for fishing and congress tourism.
Bukovička Banja is located close to the capital city of Serbia (76km south of Belgrad), at the foot of Bukulja mountain. The spa is one of the best equipped resorts with 1 hot and 4 cold mineral water springs.
